Check out www.sprol.com it shows some of the worst places on earth. And a few are in our own back yards. This is in Indiana. During World War I, East Chicago Harbbor, Indiana was known as the "Arsenal of America". Later, it became the "Workshop of America". These images suggest other nationalistic generalizations, like Ashtray of America, Coal Chute of America, etc.

Are all of these facilities still operating? If not, they may be TOADs, an acronym term coined by planners to mean Temporary, Obsolete, Abandoned, or Derelict. Posted by Hello
