A female journalist tries to uncover the truth behind the breakup, years earlier, of a celebrated comedy team after the duo found a girl dead in their hotel room. Though both had airtight alibis and neither was accused, the incident put an end to their act.

I love this on my Treo 600. It works great, once I figured out the right remote ( I never did get the learn mode to work right) When the kids are fighting over the remote all I have to do is hit the off button on NoviiRemote and that ends the argument quickly I especially like using it in the bar, but I think all those people are suspicious when I have to stand on the bar to change channels, too bad the Treo doesn't have more IR power Posted by Picasa

LONDON BOMB WOMAN'S CHILLING WARNING

LONDON BOMB WOMAN'S CHILLING WARNING
14 July 2005
A Teenage hairdresser has revealed how she was told " we are all going to die"

Just minutes before one of last week's London underground bombs exploded.
Naima Aboulachouaq was travelling on the tube at King's Cross Station. Moments
later an explosion ripped through the next carriage killing 21 people.

Naima, aged 19, has given a detailed description of the man to London police.
She believes he had some connection with last Thursday's terrorist attack.

Naima who lived with her parents in Llanelli's King George Avenue, until she went
away to work, is a former pupil of Coedcae school. She said: "As I got on the Tube
there was this bearded man standing next to me by the doors. He had a smirk on
his face and told me that within two minutes we were all going to die. The next
thing the bomb went off."

Miss Aboulachouaq, who works in Covent Garden, was trapped in the carriage for
half an hour.

She said: "I owe everything to my boyfriend. I was ready to board the first carriage
but he said to go on the second."

Miss Aboulachouaq boarded a Tube on Saturday and admitted she was scared.
She said: "Life has got to go on hasn't it?"

Army gives $5 bln of work to Halliburton WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. military has signed on Halliburton (NYSE:HAL - news) to do nearly $5 billion in new work in
Iraq under a giant logistics contract that has so far earned the Texas-based firm $9.1 billion, the Army said on Wednesday.

Linda Theis, a spokeswoman for U.S. Army Field Support Command in Rock Island, Illinois, said the military signed the work order with Halliburton unit Kellogg Brown and Root in May.

The new deal, worth $4.97 billion over the next year, was not made public when it was signed because the Army did not consider such an announcement necessary, she said.

"We did not announce this task order as this is really not something we ever really thought about doing," said Theis.

Halliburton, which was run by Vice President
Dick Cheney from 1995-2000, has been under scrutiny for its contracts in Iraq and several U.S. government agencies are looking into whether it overcharged for some work. http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20050706/bs_nm/iraq_halliburton_dc_6 Posted by Picasa

At least two people have been killed and scores injured after three blasts on the Underground network and another on a double-decker bus in London.

UK Prime Minister Tony Blair said it was "reasonably clear" there had been a series of terrorist attacks.

He said it was "particularly barbaric" that it was timed to coincide with the G8 summit. He is returning to London.

An Islamist website has posted a statement - purportedly from al-Qaeda - claiming it was behind the attacks. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/england/london/4659093.stm Posted by Picasa

$299 Linux PC hits US shelves

Systemax offers budget computers pre-installed with Linspire operating system
Robert Jaques, vnunet.com 06 Jul 2005 Systemax has unveiled its first desktop PC pre-installed with desktop Linux. The budget model is selling in the US for $299.

The system builder chose Linspire's operating system for its Venture L335 system which comes with an Intel Celeron D processor, 40GB hard drive and 256MB of Ram.

"Most people buy computers, not operating systems. It is important that people can experience Linux without having to install it themselves," said Kevin Carmony, president and chief executive at Linspire.

"The success of companies like Dell shows that people want to buy affordable computers direct from the manufacturer, but be able to configure the system to fit their exact needs. Now people can enjoy the same benefits of buying custom-built PCs with Linux."

However, would be UK customers will be disappointed as the $299.99 PCs are only available to US consumers. http://www.vnunet.com/2139388 Posted by Picasa

karla homolka "killer on the streets"

OK I just finished reading the report by the www.torontosun.com on Karla's release...I believe she will reoffend with in a few years because, as you can read in the article, she still does not think she did anything to OTHERS. She is just a selfish bitch who wants the rest of us to feel sorry for her. I for one will NOT. I feel sorry for the children that had their lives cut short in a blaze of terror by this woman. I feel sorry for the "stupid" Canadian justice system that let this murderer off so lightly. My hope now is that our justice system will learn from their mistakes. I love living in a country built on tolerance but it also must include justice, which unfortunately was lost in this case. Posted by Picasa
